[27-NOV-2018] #OviWatch, #BackstromWatch, etc.

#OviWatch

Last night, Ovi scored an empty net goal to tie Joe Sakic and Jarome Iginla for 15th overall. Given his torrid rate of scoring - 18 goals in 24 games this season - he is on pace to score 61 goals this year, which actually puts Luc Robataille in reach, if he keeps it up. Although he is currently in 4th place for the Rocket Richard trophy, I believe that race is not yet over, and that Ovi will take the lead some time in January and never look back. The man is a goal-scoring machine!

Next up is Dave Andreychuk, with 640 goals in 1639 games played.

#BackstromWatch

Last night, Nicklas Backstrom scored his 22nd assist of the season, in 24 games played. With 6 goals, Backstrom is better than a point-per-game player this season so far. His three assists last night put his career total at 612, good for 82nd overall. 827 points puts him in sole possession of 2nd in the franchise for points (behind only Ovechkin)! He is 147th overall in the points category.
