[30-Jan-2016] Wow, Dennis.... Just wow...

So apparently Dennis Wideman can't tell the difference between a zebra and a Predator... Or so he claims. From the replay, it looks like nothing short of a petulent player retaliating against the first thing in stripes he sees after being on the receiving end of a hard check that may or may not have been strictly legal, but that was not called for a penalty.

The hit Wideman took was hip to hip along the boards, but it spun him around face first into the glass. Good hit, bad reaction. If Wideman had a concussion, why did he finish the game? Doesn't the NHL have a concussion protocol in place for things like this?

Meanwhile, Captain Chaos (AKA Ovi) is sitting out the All Star game to nurse a pesky lower body injury; he's been replaced in the lineup by Evgeny Kuznetsof - deserving lad that he is. I'm glad Ovi has the sense to pull himself out of the game.

After the break, the real push to the postseason starts.

[07-Feb-2016] #Update: Dennis Wideman has been suspended for 20 games by the NHL. The NHLPA has appealed the suspension.
